Zero Downtime CCCApply Release in Pilot Today, April 3, 2024
A CCCApply Pilot release planned for Friday will be deployed two days early today, Tuesday, April 3, 2024 starting at approximately 10 am. This early deployment to the pilot environment adds two additional days for colleges to test before the target deployment to production on Friday, April 12.
Changes included in this release:
- Major expansion to the American Indian Alaska Native (AIAN) list of tribes in the Demographics section of the standard and international applications
- We're thrilled to unveil an updated list of American Indian Alaska Native (AIAN) Tribes on CCCApply, designed with a more inclusive approach to better represent AIAN students on our campuses. Feedback highlighted that our previous system offered a limited selection of Tribal names, many of which were overly general, such as “Chippewa” or “Sioux.” Recognizing the inadequacy of this approach in respecting the sovereignty of Tribal nations, we've collaborated with consultants to expand our list to include all 574 Federally Recognized Tribes as detailed in the U.S. Federal Register. Additionally, we've introduced an option for students to specify their Tribal affiliations through a write-in feature, which includes and captures those students affiliated with Tribes not currently listed on the Federal Register. Our aim is to foster an environment that is both inclusive and respectful towards all American Indian Alaska Native Tribal students.
- Note: For a detailed breakdown of change specifications, including the complete list of AIAN race group/ethnicities and data fields, please see 2024 AIAN Expansion Enhancement in CCCApply.
- Student Parent Question Enhancement
- Collect Number of Dependents Under/Over Age 18 on CCCApply standard and online 2024-2025 California Community College Promise Grant (CCPG) applications
- New CCPG online application for the 2024-2025 academic year
- The 2024-2025 online CCPG, delayed due to the revised FAFSA, will now be available to students
- Enhancements to the Bulk Account/CCCID Create Template in CCCApply Administrator
Detailed information on these enhancements and pilot testing access for colleges can be found in the CCCApply version 6.14.4 Release Notes
