COCI data info

Hi,
I work in the Bay Area community colleges (Regional Director - Adv Mfg). I really appreciate the COCI data. We've been talking about trying to put together a regional search engine (for the general public) for Bay Area CC classes, and thought the COCI database would be the resource for that.

With that in mind, I had some questions:

1) Where is the COCI pulled from? (Curricunet?)

2) How accurate is the COCI data in showing the actual active classes at the colleges? (i.e., is it THE database for capturing all this information at the state level?

3) What’s the lag time between a new course being approved by the Chancellor's office and it being reflected in COCI, and

4) Do you know if the COCI data has the more detailed descriptions in it that are listed in what colleges send to the state? 

I'd be happy to talk with someone there about what we're thinking.
